BICESTER cricket fan Chris Carroll had the once in a lifetime opportunity to play on the pitch at Trent Bridge last week during the second Test match between England and the West Indies.
Chris entered a competition online and won the chance to test his skills in a one-off Last Man Stands Super Over.
Former England international Mark Butcher was on hand to give Chris some top tips and commentate on the day.
After his memorable day, Chris said: “It was really good fun to play the Last Man Stands Super Over at Trent Bridge.
“It’s not every day you get to play at an England international, so it was a real once-in-a -lifetime experience”.
The Bicester cicketer scored an impressive 15 off the over along with his partner who had also won a place through the online competition. The Last Man Stands Super Over continues across the series against the West Indies this summer, and the overall highest scorer will win an all-expenses paid trip to the Friends Life t20 Finals Day in Cardiff on Saturday 25th August 2012. With 15 as the current highest score, Chris is in with a good chance of winning the overall prize.
Cricket legend Mark Butcher added: “I thought Chris did well considering it was in front of thousands of people at Trent Bridge.
“It was a lot of pressure as it was just one over, so they had to get to grips with it straight away. It’s great that he can say that he’s now played at a Test Match.”
