Boardman hits matchwinning 74 for Westbury

Syresham are the only unbeaten team in the Buckingham Midweek League after the latest round of matches. Syresham beat Preston Bissett by default, the latter being unable to raise a team.

Brackley and Thornborough lost their unbeaten records after both lost tight matches. Thornborough went down by five runs at Marsh Gibbon. Batting first, Marsh’s win was built on an unbeaten opening partnership of 159-0 by S.Leonard 57 and A.Wallace 88. In reply A.Birch hit 72 in Thornborough’s total of 154-6. S.Black took 2-30.

Great Horwood were bowled out for 96 with R.Cartwright taking 4-17, then restricted Brackley to 91-7 to win by five runs. R.Cartwright made 40 and H.Morrison took 3-26.

S.Boardman hit 74 not out in Westbury’s total of 146-6, then bowled out Gawcott for only 52 to win by 94 runs. In the other match Fringford beat Maids Moreton by 31 runs.
