Brackley Cricket Club have started their indoor net sessions on Thursday evenings at Winchester House starting at 8pm and would welcome any new players.

The 1st Xl and 2nd Xl both gained promotion last season and respective captains Michael Cartwright and Ian Harris are looking forward to building on that success. The first XI field a young team with most of the players coming through the youth setup which is still prospering across all the age groups.

Cartwright said: “We played some great cricket last year and the players enjoyed the success so I am looking to the team to build on that success and have a good season.” The 3rd XI had their best season to date, but Ian Timmis decided to stand down after eight years as captain with Steve Goodridge taking over.

This season the club are looking to encourage new players as they build on the success from last year and with three senior Saturday teams and a midweek team, they welcome players of all abilities.

The clubhouse can be hired out for parties, wedding and christenings and has just been booked for a dog training classes. If you are interested in joining the club, attending nets or hiring the club, call club chairman Keith Cartwright on 01280 840192 for further details.
