Brackley first XI continued their good run of form by beating Bledlow Ridge by six wickets to stay top of Cherwell Cricket League Division Six.
After winning the toss, Brackley chose to bowl and opening bowlers Sam Field and Josh Markham made early inroads into the Bledlow batting order to reduce the home side to 37-5 off 12 overs.
Bledlow were reliant on D Maunder (35) to get them up to a respectable total as Field’s return spell produced more wickets to bowl the hosts out for 120.
Field was the pick of the visiting bowlers as he finished with figures of 4-22 from 12.5 overs while Markham took 3-35.
In reply, Brackley stumbled to 32-3 but brothers Michael (54 not out) and Rob Cartwright (15) put on a 50 stand for the next wicket to release the pressure before Nigel Troup’s unbeaten 13 helped Brackley reach the target for their fourth win of the season.
