Brackley-based Murphy Prototypes have been invited to participate in the 2015 Le Mans 24-Hours by the event’s organisers, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest.
Wearing the colours of Ireland, Murphy Prototypes will field one of the 56 cars that will line-up for the 83rd edition of the famous endurance race in June. This year will mark the team’s fourth participation in the event.
The team’s principal, Greg Murphy, said: “I love the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but 2014 was very disappointing and difficult for us. We learned a great deal and we are now a better team for it.
“We’re very grateful to the ACO for being kind enough to choose us again for 2015. This time, we will not let ourselves or them down!
“We are trying to put together the best possible combination at the wheel for 2015. We know we can set fast times and win races, and this year we will be aiming to add consistency as the final ingredient for success.”
Silverstone’s Andy Priaulx will also contest rounds of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) during the 2015 season. Priaulx will drive a BMW Z4 in the LMGTE class for the BMW Sports Trophy Marc VDS team. CB/JB
