The Buckingham School U13s cricket team have won the County Plate after beating Sir William Borlases in the final.
Buckingham elected to bat first and lost Jake Anthony early, but captain Tom Taylor put on a 64 partnership with Adam King before Taylor was dismissed for 17.
George Seaton then struck a quick-fire 15 and King remained in imperious form throughout to finish unbeaten on 82 from 67 balls, hitting 12 fours and one six as Buckingham finished on 129-2.
SWB started quickly in reply, scoring 18 off the first two overs, but a great catch by Harry Winchester sparked a collapse.
Superb bowling by Anthony was backed up by an outstanding stumping from King behind the stumps before the SWB middle-order collapsed, losing six wickets for five runs, with Anthony taking 4-18 while Jamie Oliver conceded just 3.67 runs an over. King was named Man of the Match.
The victory crowned a great year with both the Year 7 and 8 teams unbeaten.
