Cricket: Ron Tompkins' memorial game at Buckingham

Buckingham Town CC stage a memorial match in memory of club stalwart Ron Tompkins this Sunday (August 22).

The match, starting at 11am at Bourton Road, is being sponsored by D & S Helps(Builders).

Ron, who died a few years ago, played for Town for 50 years, eventually becoming groundsman and president during his long service.

The match will see a Buckingham XI playing a side organised by Stuart Helps consisting of many old former Town players which it is hoped will include the likes of Ian Pont,Andrew Harwood and Carl Nicolls.
