Spike Goddard scored two National class victories in rounds of the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series at Silverstone last weekend.
Driving for the Brackley-based T-Sport team, Goddard secured wins in the first and third F3 races of the weekend, round 24 and 26 of the 2012 season.
The Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit played host to the British F3-GT meeting, with Britain’s premier single-seater championship headlining the meeting.
With three races during the weekend, the future Grand Prix stars raced in front of a low weekend crowd.
Those who chose not to attend missed out on a good weekend of racing, that also included a three-hour race for the British GT Championship.
With only one F3 meeting left this season, the overall championship race is finely balanced following wins for three separate drivers at Silverstone.
Jazeman Jaafar (Carlin), Felix Serralles (Fortec) and Alex Lynn (Fortec) took overall wins, but it was in the National class that success was secured for an Advertiser & Review region racer.
Goddard drove well in his Dallara F311 Neil Brown Mugen Honda to score his two wins.
The young Australian also secured a second position in his other outing.
He said: “I am really pleased with my weekend’s work. It was good to win twice here at Silverstone.”
Goddard’s National class team-mate, Pedro Pablo Calbimonte, took second and third place class finishes in the first and third races, while Nick McBride in the T-Sport ThreeBond-Nissan scored a best result of ninth overall in the weekend’s second race.
