Evenley condemned Byfield to their first defeat of the season in the Cherwell Cricket League Premier Division after winning by virtue of a better run-rate.
With a storm forecast, Evenley batted first and scored 206-9 with Steve Harris (62) top scoring before Barney Williams took 2-38 to restrict Byfield to 165-3 when the heavens opened. Evenley are still fourth and remain well behind Syresham, who were beaten by Wroxton.

Bottom of the table Thornborough also lost on run-rate despite Dan Hassell (4-54) and Nick Chapman (43) performing well against Marston St Lawrence.
In Division One, Greens Norton have gone top after they won and both Evenley A and Charlton were beaten.

In reply, Marston reached 100-3 before the rain came and gave Croughton victory thanks to their better run-rate.
King’s Sutton continued their relentless form in Division Three as they won their 12th consecutive match, although this victory came after Syresham failed to raise a side.
Gayton are second having beaten third-placed Silverstone by five wickets, while Gawcott & Hillesden are fifth after Colin (4-20) and Alex (47) Piggott saw them to victory against Woodford Halse A.
