Ardley United came from behind to beat Thame United 2-1 in a controversial encounter that keeps Kevin Brock’s side second in the Hellenic Premier Division.
In a game that saw two penalties and a red card, Thame started the better and took the lead on eight minutes when Dan West’s long-range effort took a wicked bobble to evade Ardley goalkeeper Joe White.
The hosts then missed a penalty and it proved to be the turning point as Ardley levelled through Troy Byan 90 seconds into the second half.
The visitors took control and scored a second when Phil Picket was sent off for felling Nick Thorne in the penalty box and Steve Howkins dispatched the resulting penalty.
Ardley saw out victory and they’ll hope to continue their good form on Saturday when they host Holyport.
