Ardley United’s poor run of form continued on Saturday when two late Holyport goals condemned them to fourth straight league defeat.
The home side took control of the game early on and had several scoring chances in the opening stages but Conor Ingram slipped twice when well-placed to shoot and Darren Beckett’s shot was blocked.
At the other end, Holyport’s Tom Kaill had a shot tipped away by Ardley keeper Jack Harding before United took a deserved lead on 11 minutes when Luke Ingram crossed for Troy Bryan, who scored via a deflection off the far post.
Ardley continued to enjoy the better of the half but their failure to add further goals was to be punished in the second period as the visitors posed the greater threat.
Ardley were indebted to Harding for making a couple of excellent saves to keep United ahead, but Holyport deservedly levelled when Kaill scored straight from a corner on 82 minutes, and the visitors then stole victory through the same man in the closing stages.
Ardley face Bracknell Town this weekend.
