Buckingham Athletic remain top of South Midlands League Division One following a 2-0 win over Kentish Town.
Manager Damien Wiffin was without Chris Doherty and Matt Chart, who were injured, while Dave O’Dell was unavailable.
The first chance of the match fell to Athletic as Adam Bone’s volley was deflected towards goal by Leo Brooks only for a defender to head off the line.
The visitors responded well and looked the better side for the remainder of the half and would have been ahead but for a lack of composure in front of goal.
The scores remained goalless until the break but it took just 32 seconds for Athletic to take the lead in the second half.
Bone’s through ball put Brooks clear into the area and he kept his cool to slide the ball under the keeper’s legs and into the net.
Kentish kept creating chances and Tom Clark in the home goal had to pull of some smart saves.
And the three points were seals ten minutes from the end when a long clearance up field saw two defenders miss the ball and the goalkeeper slice a kick to Phil Martin, who collected and ran the ball into the open goal for his third goal of the season.
Athletic comfortably saw out the remainder of the contest to seal a 2-0 win and keep up their 100% record this season.
Next up for Athletic is a trip to Stony Stratford Town on Tuesday evening.
