Brackley Town continued their preparations for the 2013/14 season with two pre-season friendlies against AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Biggleswade Town this week.

A low-key but entertaining affair at Rushden & Diamonds ended all square after the home side took the lead through wide-man Fazel Koriya, who finished neatly, before Brett Solkhon’s header levelled things up following fine work by Izak Reid on the right.

Both sides created half chances but neither goalkeeper had much work to do, with Saints producing moments of quality as Eric Odhiambo volleyed wide and Charlie Griffin struck the bar.

In the second half, Brackley enjoyed more possession with Glenn Walker impressing but the visitors had to settle for a draw despite chances for Gary Mulligan and Elliot Sandy.

On Tuesday evening, goals from Solkhon and Reid gave Saints a 2-0 victory away at Biggleswade after a dominant performance from the visitors.

Brackley’s pre-season campaign continues with a home game against Forest Green Rovers on Saturday before they travel to Rugby Town next Tuesday for a 7.45pm kick-off.

Starting XI v Biggleswade: McNamara; E Odhiambo, Nisevic, Sandy, James Sage, Austin, Reid, Solkhon, Mulligan, Robinson, Walker.
