Brackley Town will play Barrow in the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup on Saturday, October 26.
The draw – made live on Talk Sport radio today (Monday) – follows Brackley’s 2-0 defeat of Boston United in the Third Qualifying Round at St James Park on Saturday.
Glenn Walker gave the hosts the lead just before half-time and striker Steve Diggin settled the tie with a well-placed finish minutes before the end of the match.
Saints defeated Barrow 1-0 on the opening day of the league season, and a victory this time out would see them enter the draw for the First Round Proper of England’s most famous cup competition for only the second time in 113 years. The only time Saints have previously managed this feat was in 2008/09, where they narrowly lost 2-1 to Eastwood Town.
Barrow will make the long journey to Brackley after defeating Midland Football Combination side Atherstone Town 4-0 on Saturday - a game which was marred by crowd trouble during halftime. With Atherstone trailing 4-0 at the break, a group of home fans invaded the pitch and aggresively headed towards to the section containing the travelling Barrow fans.
