Brackley Town U18s have won the Northamptonshire County Cup after beating Wellingborough Grammarians 6-1 in the final.
Having won the U16 County Cup final last year with the same squad, Brackley were looking to become the first team to win the cup two years running and they made the ideal start when Lewis Baldwin converted an early penalty after a foul on Patterson.
Despite further chances, Town remained just one ahead at the break but they netted the crucial second goal shortly after half time through Matt Hammond.
Hammond then turned provider as his fine pass saw Matt Johnson round the goalkeeper and score before Hammond fizzed his second into the bottom corner.
Wellingborough reduced the arrears with 20 minutes to go but Hammond claimed his hat-trick and Jarred Spink scored a sixth from Jackson’s inviting cross as Brackley became the first team to win the NFA County Cup two years running.
