Brackley Town manager Jon Brady lavished praise on his players after his side secured a Blue Square North play-off spot.
Despite losing 3-1 to relegation-threatened Colwyn Bay on Tuesday, Saints were guaranteed a play-off place after Harrogate failed to win at Solihull Moors, and Brady was quick to express his pride at what the club have achieved.
He said: “We’ve had a fantastic season. We’re in the play-offs, we were expected to just beat relegation and I said to them in the changing rooms, they need to do themselves justice because we didn’t tonight and we need to bounce back from that.
“We’ve won five out of our last six and we’ve kept three clean sheets so it’s not doom and gloom, it’s quite positive. This club have just got into the Blue Square North play-offs, that is an unbelievable achievement.
“I’m very proud of the boys. They’ve worked very hard, it’s been hard work for everyone at the football club – everyone off the pitch that have sorted the facilities, we’ve just got ground grading about three weeks ago so those people need a special mention. Everyone’s pulled together at this football club to make it that we stay in this league and actually now have an opporunity to maybe push on. It’s not just the players and the staff, it’s the fans and the people who have been here for years.
“We’ve created an infrastructure now with new changing rooms, new astro turf behind the goal and the terracing so it’s an amazing achievement.”
