Buckingham Town finished the 2012/13 campaign 15th in UCL Division One after winning their final two matches of the season.

On Saturday, Neil Grifftihs’ side beat Burton Park Wanderers 4-1 before the Robins hammered Northampton ON Chenecks 6-1 last night.

Grifftish said after the win over Chenecks: “ We are overjoyed. A great way to round off the season.

“Everyone who has been a part a part of the club since I’ve joined has worked so hard, we have struggled on at times when strong performances weren’t producing the results they deserved.

“If you believe in something and keep working at it, you will reap the rewards. The players deserve these wins.

“Their attitudes and application have been exceptional. We are currently sitting third in the form table, only behind champions Sileby and runners-up AFC Rushden and Diamonds.

“Our starting 11 on Saturday had only three players over the age of 23 and that was the same again on Tuesday.

“The potential of this group is frightening. Every player is committed to the long term success of the club. Our current form gives an insight into what we can achieve with these players.

“We set our points target of 32 when I joined and we have beaten that.

“We’ll have some rest now but come back July 2 for pre-season raring to go and the new season will be a fresh start. In truth I’d love the new season to start next week.”
