Buckingham Athletic have announced two new managerial appointments in the last week.
Steve Farmborough has been named the club’s U18s manager alongside his assistant from Milton Keynes U16s Sam Pateman.
Farmborough said: “The reason for going to Buckingham is they have offered the lads the best chance for development by letting us play in the floodlight league. This in my opinion is a fantastic step for any 16-year-old who wants to play football at a good level. Next season is not about winning, it’s about development; they are good players but we want them to be great players by the age of 20.”
Athletic have also appointed a new reserve team manager in Larry Woodward.
He said: “Eleven out of the 16 teams in the newly formed South Midlands U25 Development Division are Step 5 clubs, so everyone will need to ready to meet the challenge. I don’t want us just making up the numbers.”
