Free-scoring Dom Lawless struck another brace as Buckingham Town continued their strong finish to the season with a 2-0 win over St Neots Town Saints on Tuesday, extending their unbeaten run to three games and lifting them to 13th in UCL Division One.
Lawless opened the scoring inside the first quarter of an hour when a defensive clearance was charged down and the striker smashed home the loose ball via both posts, before he wrapped up victory midway through the second half after bursting through the home defence and beating goalkeeper Sam Donkin. Buckingham also earned a 1-1 draw with mid-table rivals Thrapston Town this week after Akin Iluyemi’s second half strike.
The Robins complete their season with three games in the next week. First against Rothwell tomorrow, Saturday, then Olney Town on Easter Monday followed by a trip to Woodford United next Wednesday.
