Two goals from Flackwell Heath’s Dan Burnell condemned Ardley United to their second successive home defeat at the Playing Fields on Saturday.
The visitors took control from the outset and deservedly went ahead on 23 minutes when goalkeeping Jack Harding was forced to run out and tackle Joe Blount on the edge of the box with the loose ball falling kindly to Burnell, who slotted into an empty net.
United gradually began to see more of the ball but struggled to pose much of a threat on the away goal and Flackwell doubled their lead before half-time when Gavin James neatly finished past Harding having been played through.
Ardley improved in the second period and after Ricky Johnson had missed a couple of chances, Conor Ingram halved the deficit when he headed home Harry Brock’s cross.
It was in vain, however, as Ardley were unable to score another, instead Flackwell secured victory with a late third goal through Burnell’s penalty.
Ardley, who are seventh in the Hellenic Premier Division, travel to leaders Highmoor Ibis tomorrow.
