Colts shock Horsepath in thrilling cup tie

editorial image

BICESTER Town Colts U15s upset the odds to win a pulsating encounter 8-7 on penalties after drawing 4-4 against in-form Horsepath Youth in the Oxfordshire County Cup.

The visitors were clear favourites having won every game this season against a Bicester side that has only won once, and they showed why with two early goals.

But Bicester responded as a pinpoint corner from Bryan Tah saw Cameron Hawtin halve the deficit before Isaac Legris made it 2-2 at half time.

The game looked to have been won by Horsepath following a slick counter-attack but again the Colts hit back through Hawtin, who scored seconds before full time.

Bicester then took the lead for the first time as Legris notched his second but a late equaliser from Horsepath took the game to penalties.

The visitors went first but goalkeeper Dominick Witkowiski produced a superb save to put Bicester on the font foot and George Wing, Josh Barwell, Bryan Tah and Aiden Redmond all scored to send Bicester through.
