Buckingham Athletic picked up just a solitary point from their two SSML Division One matches this week.

Saturday’s game at home to Arlesey Town Reserves saw few chances at either end, with the deadlock finally broken by the visitors on 70 minutes through Marshall’s powerful header. Athletic then pressed for the equaliser, which came six minutes from time when a corner was headed home by substitute Josh Hooper to give his side a deserved point.

On Tuesday, Athletic made the long trip to Kentish Town without a recognised striker due to absentees, and it showed on the night as they lacked a cutting edge in the final third despite their good play, with Kentish winning 2-0. Athletic host Welwyn this Saturday at 3pm.
