Ardley United enjoyed a perfect few days this week as they progressed in both the Challenge Cup and the Oxfordshire Senior Cup.
On Saturday, Kevin Brock’s side needed extra-time to see off Penn & Tyler’s Green.
Ardley took control of possession for much of the first half but lacked the final touch in front of goal as Ryan Brooks, Troy Bryan and Jon Gardner all spurned good chances.
The second period began like the first, with Ardley continuing to waste opportunities while the home side gradually grew into the game as the match went into extra-time.
Finally Ardley broke the deadlock when Bryan was brought down inside the penalty area and Callum Convey dispatched the resulting spot-kick before Brooks sealed the win.
Goals from Stuart Bridges and Bryan then saw Ardley through to the next round of the Oxordshire Senior Cup with a 2-0 win at Clanfield on Tuesday evening.
United return to league action tomorrow, Saturday, as they take on Highmoor Ibis before hosting Kidlington on Tuesday.
