Buckingham Town manager Neil Griffiths is eager to get his first win when his side host 14th-placed Thrapston at Manor Fields on Saturday.
The Robins came within minutes of earning a point at league leaders Northampton Sileby Rangers last week but a late goal saw them beaten 1-0.
Griffiths said: “The performances continue to improve and we are certainly getting a sense of achievement from this.
“However, we haven’t yet got the win and that is something we are desperate to obtain sooner rather than later.
“We didn’t just compete with top of the league but we dominated the majority of the game, on another day we’d have been two or three up by half time.
“Even in their strong spell, we defended both with desire and intelligence. I feel for the players as we have done enough to win recent games and a couple of chances go in and we’d be sitting here with nine points from our last 12.
“Saturday gives us a home tie after Tuesday nights game was called off. The lads are chomping at the bit and it’s a productive atmosphere to be in.
“We want our next game to come as soon as possible and we want that first win even more. “Hopefully that comes Saturday, we will have to work hard to earn it, no team is going to just roll over and it will be another tough encounter.”
