BUCKINGHAM Town manager Neil Griffiths is hoping to pick up his first win as the Robins manager when they visit Northampton ON Chenecks tomorrow.

The recent poor weather has disrupted Griffiths’ preparations as he aims to take Buckingham out of relegation trouble in UCL Division One.

He said: “We are really looking forward to Saturday’s game, its going to be a tough game for sure as Chenecks have picked up some positive results against top sides.

“It feels like my first proper game in charge, we’ve had a solid six training sessions over the last couple of weeks and I know a lot more about the group.

“We hope to hit the ground running but, at the same time, manage expectations and know that it may take a few games for the team to blend in a competitive environment.

“We want to create a winning mentality and that’s what we want from Saturday – our first three points.

“We have re-signed Joel McCormick from Winslow and the players know each other considerably more than just three weeks ago.

“We need to take our positivity into Saturday and impose ourselves early on, always play with a high tempo with the pacey players that we have with in our squad.

“If we play with the same confidence we train with, then Saturday should bring the rewards we want.”
