Leon Lobjoit took his goal tally to beyond 60 for the season as his hat-trick helped Buckingham Town come from 2-0 down to beat Melton 4-2 and remain in the promotion hunt.
Melton were keen to avenge a 7-0 beating suffered at the hands of Buckingham earlier in the season, and on a tricky pitch, they took control.
After Town saw an early effort ruled out for a tight offside call, Melton went ahead with a smart finish inside Ryan Thrussell’s far post, and despite a determined response from Buckingham, the lead was soon doubled to give the Robins a mountain to climb.
But the turning point came just a few moments later when Thrussell produced a fine save from point-blank range to keep Town in the contest.
Michael McKenzie then started the comeback on 25 minutes, cutting into the penalty area and shooting low and hard into the far corner.
This was the signal for the Robins to pile on the pressure and before you knew it the scores were level with that man Lobjoit burying a header beyond the away goalkeeper.
That brought Town level at half-time, a fair reflection of the first-half, but Melton were powerless to prevent Buckingham, and in particular Lobjoit, from going on to win it.
A sublime chip from 25 yards completed the comeback before Lobjoit sealed the win with his third of the day.
Town are back up to third in UCL Division One and visit Lutterworth this weekend.
