Many local football teams had a weekend off this week after torrential rain and driving wind caused the postponement of virtually every fixture.

Brackley Town’s Conference North encounter at home to Guiseley was postponed on Saturday morning following an inspection at a saturated St James Park. Saints resume their league campaign at home to Gainsborough Trinity this weekend.

Elsewhere, Winslow United and Buckingham Athletic both saw their SSML Division One matches called off, as did Buckingham Town in UCL Division One.

In the Hellenic Premier Division, Ardley’s home match with Binfield also succumbed to the weather, keeping Ardley top of the table.

The only match played was in Division One of the North Bucks & District League, where Charlton and Great Horwood Reserves played out a thriller, Charlton winning 5-4.
