Phil Martin found the net four times as Buckingham Athletic turned in a stunning second-half performance to run out convincing 5-2 winners against Harpenden Town in Division One of the Spartan South Midlands League on Saturday.
Athletic fell behind in the eighth-minute and continued to trail by the solitary strike at the interval.
But Martin levelled for the home side 12 mimnutes after the break before a further five goals were recorded in a frantic ten-minute spell.
Martin and skipper Ryan Wiffin put the home side 3-1 ahead, only for the visitors to reduce the deficit in the 75th minute.
Hope of a comeback lasted just 60 seconds, however, with Martin hammering home his hat-trick from the restart and bagging his fourth – and the final goal of the game – four minutes later.
In Division Two of the SSML, Mursley United slipped to a 1-0 home defeat to Hale Leys United.
