Mursley United cruised through to the third round of the Berks and Bucks Intermediate Cup with a 7-0 home victory over Bedgrove Dynamos.
The hosts went ahead after seven minutes when Robin Tucker latched on to a deep cross from the right and tapped in from six yards.
Mursley continued to dominate and added to their lead on 25 minutes through Jonathan Crook before, on the stroke of half time, a swift passing move found Ben Brill, whose shot shot looked to be heading into the goalkeeper’s hands until a wicked deflection took it into the net.
In the second half, Paul Hollingsworth was upended in the area and home goalkeeper, Dean Trowbridge, stepped up to rifle the spot-kick home, while Trowbridge was then called upon to make his only real save of the match as he palmed away a speculative cross.
A scramble following a corner lead to Mursley’s fifth as Pat Crouch stabbed the ball towards goal and it deflected off Brill. Mursley’s sixth and seventh both came from substitute Gary Hutchinson who twice netted from close range, the first after good work on the left by Crouch and his second, courtesy of a strong run and cross by Andy Cleere.
Mursley United Reserves suffered defeat, however, as they were beaten 3-1 by Wolverton Town Reserves.
