Mursley United kept the pressure on the top two in SSML Division Two with a 3-1 win away at Wolverton Town.
The visitors survived an early scare in the opening minute as Wolverton broke quickly, but Mursley held firm and responded in emphatic fashion when Andy Cleere rifled in a 25-yard rocket that sailed into the top corner.
Wolverton replied with several chances, one hitting the post, and they deservedly levelled on 17 minutes through Byrne.
Level at the break, Wolverton made a fast start to the second period and forced Dean Trowbridge into a fine save, before the visitors went up the other end and took the lead when, against the run of play, Andy Brown’s cross drifted over the home goalkeeper and into the net. Mursley then secured the win thanks to Sam Folland’s precise free-kick.
The Reserves were also victorious this week as they beat Stony Stratford Town 1-0 thanks to Scott Bitra’s goal.
