Brackley Town chairman Francis Oliver is to hold a meeting tonight, Tuesday, following the unexpected departure of club secretary Pat Ashby.

It is reported the long-serving secretary was asked to step down from his duties at the club prior to Saturday’s Skrill North game with Solihull Moors. Ashby had been secretary with Saints for 36 years and a Facebook campaign has already attracted 400 followers asking for his reinstatement.

The club’s general manager Janine Butters, who took over last year, said the club would not be making any comment until after tonight’s meeting and could not confirm who would be present. But she said Oliver would be posting a statement on the club’s website following the meeting.
