PADBURY Village FC suffered their first pre-season loss when they were beaten 4-3 by Intermediate champions Great Horwood despite dominating much of the match.
After an even start, Padbury began to find their passing rhythm and they started to dominate and opened the scoring when Martin managed to poke home from six yards.
Padbury remained on top and should have had a penalty but they went into the break leading 1-0.
Horwood levelled the scores shortly into the second half with a first time shot that dipped over goalkeeper Matt French.
However, the visitors retook the lead moments later when Marsden scored from a 25-yard free-kick before they doubled their lead through James Watts.
With 15 minutes to go it seemed Padbury were heading for victory but three late Horwood goals – including one that appeared clearly offside – gave the home side an unlikely win.
