Brackley Town chairman Francis Oliver says the club are working hard in preparation for the 2014/15 season.

Speaking after Saints’ seventh-placed finish in last season’s Conference North, Oliver said: “I share with you all the disappointment of not quite making it into the play-off places when we had been well placed throughout most of the season.

“The second half was often a case of ifs and maybes but we were not quite consistent enough over this period.

“We ended the season with our annual first team presentation evening. It was good to see so many supporters there for what was an enjoyable occasion. Steve Diggin won the Supporters’ Player of the Year, very narrowly I believe from second-placed Ryan Austin. Ryan collected his own award one week later however when he was voted Players’ Player of the Year.

“We are now planning for next season, a third season in Conference North will be very challenging and we will see how we are progressing as the season unfolds. Jon (Brady) has made contact with all the players and they have been offered new deals. Once Jon returns from holiday he will be contacting them again and also many other players he has been in touch with over the last couple of weeks as he begins to pull together the squad for next season.

“We are looking to build a sustainable future at the club both from a playing and off the field point of view.

“During the close season, the Cricket Ground End is being redeveloped along with other small changes, namely the PA system, a new manager’s office and kit room and various areas of concreting.

“We are taking a hard look at the running of the club to find further revenue raising opportunities so that we can assist the first team in competing successfully at this level and improving facilities further.

“What we certainly need are more volunteers to help with stewarding, to boost the Supporters Club and to help out behind the scenes using whatever particular expertise and skills you can bring.

“There is a great deal of activity underway and I look forward to keeping you updated as we move forward towards the new season.”
