Heavy rain at the weekend forced a number of sporting fixtures across the region to be called off due to waterlogged pitches.
In the Spartan South Midlands League, Buckingham Athletic’s home match against Amersham Town in Division One was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Stratford Fields. The game has been rearranged for January 20.
In the same division, Winslow United were also without a game after their clash away at Southall succumbed to the weather. That match will now be played next Wednesday.
This weekend, Athletic travel to Edgware Town while Winslow host Harpenden.
Meanwhile, in the Hellenic Premier Division, Ardley’s United encounter away at in-form Thame was another to fall foul of the weather.
Ardley are at home to Flackwell Heath this Saturday.
Buckingham Town were also thwarted by the rain when their Berks & Bucks County Cup clash away at New Bradwell St Peter was called off.
The last 16 tie will now take place this Saturday. The winners will travel to Oakley United in the quarter-finals on January 24.
Teams in the North Bucks & District League were also frustrated by the weather, although several game did take place.
In the Premier Division, Great Horwood went second with a 7-3 win at MK Wanderers while Potterspury stretched their lead at the top to 11 points after winning 3-1 at home to Stewkley.
Division One leaders Stoke Hammond Wanderers kept themselves top thanks to a 4-3 win over Deanshanger Athletic, with Twyford United three points back in second as they thrashed Olney 7-2.
In the Berks & Bucks FA Junior Cup, Mursley United Reserves won 4-1 at Great Horwood Reserves to ease through to the fifth round.
