Buckingham Town manager Neil Griffiths was happy with his side’s performance in their 3-0 win over St Neots Saints at the weekend.
Ross Stone, Ieuan Riley and the recently re-signed Kyle Stimpson were the goalscorers in a victory that lifts the Robins up to 10th in UCL Division One.
Griffiths said: “Saturday was as good a performance as we have produced all season. St Neots Saints were a youthful side but they certainly have some quality in their ranks.
“We retained the ball well and had some good opportunities. Ross Stone put us in front before Stimmo scored on his first start. Ieuan belted one in from 30 yards to make it 3-0 and give us the game.”
Griffiths has bolstered his squad with the addition of Stimpson as well as striker Dom Lawless, who scored 31 Premier goals in 38 starts last season. The Robins boss added: “Lawless and Stimpson are very strong additions for us. I have no doubt we will have clubs coming after Dom but it is a major coup to have signed him. Kyle will give us an aerial threat and he knows where the net is.”
Buckingham, who suffered mixed success in the cups with defeats in the FA Vase and County Cup countered by victory over Stony Stratford in the Buckingham Charity Cup, now head into a run of league matches starting with Eyensbury away next Tuesday.
Griffiths added: “Eyensbury will be a very tough game for us but we need to kick on now, we have players returning from injury and will look to get stronger all the time.”
