Dean Torto and Kyle Stimpson scored in each half to give Buckingham Town a 2-0 victory over Irchester United in UCL Division One on Tuesday evening.
Torto put the visitors ahead with a 10th minute strike before Stimpson sealed the points midway through the second half as the Robins responded well to their heavy 7-2 loss away at promotion-chasing Harrowby United on Saturday.
Buckingham made the long trip to Harrowby full of confidence given their recent good form, but the home needed just 15 minutes to take a 1-0 lead.
Dom Lawless hit a spectacular 25-yard equaliser two minutes later, but a series of defensive errors saw Town go into half-time trailing 4-1.
Any ideas of a second half comeback quickly evaporated as Harrowby added a fifth a minute after the restart and while Lawless scored his second with a fierce drive in off the post, the home side completed the rout with two further second half goals.
Buckingham are 14th in Division One and this Saturday travel to Potton United, who sit level on points with Town in 12th.
