Buckingham Town remain winless under new boss Neil Griffiths following a 3-1 home defeat to Thrapston on Saturday,
The former Olney manager said: “Saturday was a big disappointment for us. We have played some fantastic football against teams at the top end of the table and this was a game we had targeted to win with them being so close to us.
“They scored early on and it seems to kill our confidence, we need that first win and I believe it will transform our outlook.
“We’ve had to make a number of personnel changes and we didn’t click. It has hurt us all, we stayed in the dressing room and aired on views on why we hadn’t performed in a game that was very important to us.
“It was a strong meeting and we are the better for it now.”
On Wednesday, Buckingham host 14th-placed Rothwell Corinthians, Griffiths added: “We can no longer affect Saturday’s result that has gone. All we can focus on is how we react to it.
“We need a strong performance Wednesday night. It’s another winnable game at home, it will be our first under the lights which always makes it a bit more special.”
