Brackley Town are hosting League One side MK Dons this Saturday in their final pre-season game ahead of next week’s Conference North opener away at AFC Fylde.

Following the Dons’ visit to Brackley’s St James Park last season, they requested a repeat friendly fixture this year and are expected to bring a strong squad. The game kicks off at 3pm with £5 admission and under-18s free.

Saints manager Jon Brady has continued to build a new-look squad of largely young players with a hunger to make their mark. Players who have featured in the warm-up games include John Brown, who was at Hereford United last season, and former Cobblers strikers Claudio Dias and Will Green.

Brady said: “There’s a rawness to the squad, a youthfulness to it but also a big hunger to it. The majority of our squad will be 23 and under and will be first or second year pros who haven’t quite made it.

“We have a young side that we want to work with for a long time. We’ll play good football, work very hard and hope the results will follow.”
