Preston Gawcott Tigers U12 played their last game of the season at home against a highly charged Great Linford Harriers and lost 3–5.
With the high winds in their favour in the first half Tigers took the lead with a lucky goal from their own goalkeeper, Sam Walker, across the length of the pitch.
He had a spectacular game, punching and diving, thwarting numerous attempts at the goal, supported by quick thinking Jordan Gravestock in defence. Luke Page scored the second goal for Tigers off a superb Joseph Wilmshurst cross.
Christopher Sacharov had a near shot but it was taken by the wind. Harriers came back with a goal just before half time.
The second half was much harder for Tigers, now running into the wind and with no substitutes and a number of injuries they started to tire.
Midfield powerhouse, Joseph Kayll, worked hard in his final game for Tigers, Joseph Wilmshurst fought on, taking the ball forward and keeping the game moving but Harriers equalised.
Tigers rallied and Marcus Deangelis managed a great goal but Harriers went ahead to win. Joseph Wilmshurst was awarded man of the match.
