Brackley Town midfielder Brett Solkhon lavished praise on striker Jefferson Louis after his superb display helped Brackley Town to a 4-2 aggregate win over Altrincham in the Blue Square North play-off semi-final.
Louis scored in Tuesday’s first leg defeat at Altrincham but his goal inside five minutes set Saints on their way to a stunning 3-0 win on Saturday.
Solkhon said: “Jefferson was immense today from the first whistle until when he came off. He bullied the centre halfs and he was strong and took his goal so well.
“We always believed in ourselves and these are the sort of games you want to play in.
“I think we had to go for it, we sat off a little bit on Tuesday and we had to start well and begin on the front foot and it paid off.”
Over 1,300 were in attendance on Saturday to witness a near-perfect team display from Saints as goals from Louis and Glenn Walker as well as own goal sent them through to the final, which will be held at St James’ Park on Sunday, May 12.
Talking about playing in front of a large crowd, Solkhon added: “I very much enjoyed it. Even though we’ve only had two or three hundred sometimes over the season, they’ve certainly made their voices clear and loud but our fans today were immense and that’s what it’s about and they’ll enjoy it all week and hopefully all summer.”
