Aylesbury United manager Glyn Creaser was delighted to come away from last Thursday’s derby against Aylesbury FC with a point.

The Moles were leading 2-1 heading into the final few minutes but Sonny French came back to haunt his former club as his late strike ensured United left Haywood Way with a valuable point that lifts them five points clear of the Division One Central drop zone.

Creaser said: “I am very happy because we never want to lose games.

“We conceded two goals, the first one was a quality goal, but we probably could have defended a bit better overall.

“We hit the post twice and those are the chances you have to put away to win matches, however I thought the effort, energy and enthusiasm from the boys was first class.

“It would have been easy to roll over at 2-1, but it shows the character of the boys. We still need a few more points to make sure we stay in this division. That was the challenge and the lads have risen to it.

“I was really proud and pleased with the boys. We have picked up ten points out of 12 in the last four games which is great.”

The Ducks finish their season with two games in three days, hosting Beaconsfield SYCOB on Thursday and then going to Uxbridge on Saturday.
