Great Horwood 1st XI remain winless and rooted to the bottom of Division One after losing by four wickets against East Oxford. Faced with a number of non-availabilities, skipper Sam Willett resisted the temptation to raid the 2nd XI for players to face East Oxford, leaving himself short of quality batting against one of the strongest bowling line ups in the league.

Only four Horwood batsmen made double figures as they struggled to 109 all out.

East Oxford stuttered in reply against some good bowling from Nick Glister, well supported by Neil Wilkins and Dale Armitage.

But it wasn’t enough for Horwood and Willett will be hoping to be back to full strength next weekend as his side have an Airey Cup tie at Stonesfield on Saturday, followed by a league match away to Garsington on Sunday.
