Healthy turn out sees Silson up to 11th
THE second round of the Chiltern League Cross Country series held at Shuttleworth saw another healthy turn out for Silson Joggers as they moved up to 11th in the team standings.
Silson Joggers had 14 runners registered to take part – 21 men, five women and 15 juniors.
With all of the club’s runners scoring points at the event, it was an excellent day out for the Brackley club with a strong contingent of supporters turning out to encourage everyone in their efforts.
Among the many strong performances, standout efforts included Tom Phelps, who was second man home with his strongest run for the club to date having run a time of 35.09 minutes.
David Coates also impressed as he returned from injury to finish 19th in his class running 41.46.
Next month’s Chiltern League event sees the club take their annual coach trip to Slough on Saturday, December 1.
Given how close the league points table is this year, Silson plan to take the largest team possible and to try an score as many points as they can on a nice flat course with no hills and hopefully very little mud.
For anyone interested in joining the club, more information can be found on the club website at www.silsonjoggers.org.uk.
