The provisional entry list for the 6 Hours of Silverstone, the opening round of the 2014 World Endurance Championship, has been released by the series organisers ahead of the race on Sunday April 20.
Thirty-one cars are listed for the race that will be one of two WEC events that take place ahead of June’s Le Mans 24-Hour Race.
An impressive line-up of factory-entered LMP1 prototypes has been entered, including cars from Audi, Toyota and Porsche. The Porsche team will be making their debut with former British Grand Prix winner, Mark Webber, heading their line-up.
Brackley’s Anthony Davidson will drive the number 8 Toyota TS040-Hybrid alongside Nicolas Lapierre and Sebastien Buemi, while Whittlebury’s Strakka Racing return to the series with a new LMP2 specification coupe car.
The Stakka Dome S103-Nissan will be driven by Thornborough’s Danny Watts, Jonny Kane and team boss, Nick Leventis.
The Delta-ADR team, that ran cars under the Russian G Drive Racing banner during 2013, have a new identity this year as the G Drive Racing backing has moved to the French Oak Racing team.
Two Oreca 03-Nissan cars, run by the Alan Docking and Simon Dowson stable, will carry the Millennium Racing title and will wear the numbers 22 and 23. The number 22 entry will be driven by Fabien Giroix, Oliver Turvey and Silverstone-based Australian, John Martin.
In the LMGTE Pro class the Silverstone Ram Racing team will field a Ferrari for Matt Griffin and Alvaro Parente, while their entry in the LMGTE Am class will be driven by Johnny Mowlem, Mark Patterson and Ben Collins.
A two-day pre-season test for all FIA WEC competitors takes place next weekend at the Paul Ricard circuit in France.
