NORTHAMPTONSHIRE Hovercraft Club member Jonathan Stevens came third in the British Hovercraft Championship held at Claydon House in Buckingham.

In an exciting first face, Jonathan raced hard and took full advantage of a mistake from the leader to take victory right at the death.

However, a slow start off the grid saw him drop down to fourth in the second race before using his straight-line speed to move up to second.

In the third race, Jonathan found himself third and chased hard but a misjudgement resulted in him not being able to continue the race.

After race four was abandoned due to two red flag incidents, Jonathan finished third for the weekend and once again showed great promise ahead of the British Championship next season, where he will hope to become the champion.
