Croughton continued their good run with a six-wicket home success over Wardington to move to second spot in Division Three.

The hosts posted 127-4, compared to Wardington’s 119 all out. Man of the match Ishaq Hussain blasted an unbeaten 65 for Croughton and grabbed 4-31. Marcus Fleming took 3-64 for the visitors.

In the same division, leaders Charlton (214-5) maintained their 100 per cent record with a comfortable 87-run home success over Preston Capes A (127-9). Brian Taylor hit an impressive 86 for Charlton, with Chay Kalym defiant with an unbeaten 73 for the visitors as Ryan Knight took 4-32 and Richard Taylor 2-34.

Gawcott & Hillesden lost by six wickets at Gayton, collapsing to 75-9 against the bowling strike force of Neil Bobsin, 4-4, and Tony Drayton,4-25. Gayton made 77-4 with Cameron Waldron 55 not out.

In the Premier Division it was business as usual for leaders Byfield (265-4) as they swept to a 151-run success against Marston St Lawrence (114).

Evenley, also unbeaten, maintained second spot with a workmanlike four-wicket win over Thornborough (184), reaching 185 with the loss of six wickets. Dave Holden topscored for Evenley with 74, assisted by Talib Ali on 23 not out. Matt Copping made 59 for Thornborough, Ashley Peyton-Bruhl 3-32 and Talib Ali 3-38, keeping things tight for Evenley.

Hinton-in-the Hedges (183) moved to fourth spot with a narrow 24-run victory over mid-table Syresham (159).

Mark Mounsdon was star man for Hinton, taking 6-50 and just missing out on a half century with 49. Nathan Archer shone for Syresham with 5-37, while Dave Draper,39,(pictured) and Mark Wilson, 26, did best of the Syresham batsmen.

Division One saw leaders Afro Caribbean (165-4) stay in top spot with a six-wicket sucess over Stoneleigh (164-7).

Preston Capes (73) won a low scoring match against Willoughby (42) by 31 runs, Alex Strong taking a superb 8-11 for Capes and hitting 30.

In Division Two, Greens Norton (140) are carrying all before them at the top of the table with five straight wins,the latest against Evenley A (88) by 52 runs. Dave Wilson,4-27 and 29 not out, was their man of the match, while Chris Scott shone for Evenley with an unbeaten 61.

Silverstone (52-1), down near the foot of the table, trounced MK Air (51) by nine wickets, Hugh Williams taking 5-14, while second-placed Preston Bissett (111-1) were just as impressive with victory by the same margin over basement side Crown (109). Bissett’s Harin Sellatewa excelled with an unbeaten 72 and Luke Stafford grabbed 5-49.

Syresham A (93-3) eased to a seven-wicket win over Grange Park A (90) in Division Four. Leaders Braunston Paddox (50-4) won by six wickets at home to Maids Moreton (49). Ryan Spriggs took 5-11 and hit 25 for Braunston.

Boddington (54-5) beat Helmdon (53) by five wickets.

In Division Five, leaders Priors (197) beat Evenley B (103-9) by 94 runs to stay top by five points from Flecknoe.

Sixth-placed Brackley (92) lost by 35 runs at second-placed Flecknoe (127). Rohan Cook, 5-28 and Ian Harris, 2-30, were Brackley’s bowling mainstays, while Harris also hit 28.

Silverstone A (95-2) beat Preston Bissett A (91) by eight wickets, John Fowler hitting an unbeaten 41 for Silverstone.

Hinton A (151)saw off basement outfit Thornborough A (95) by 56 runs. Alex Smart, 3-8, and Ollie Jeffs, 3-16, did the bowling damage for Hinton.
