The Towcester-based cycling club, the A5 Rangers, promoted the latest round of the British Cycling Central District’s series of Cyclo-cross events earlier this month.
The event was held on a muddy course and saw Natasha Daly take sixth in the U10 girls race with sister Shannon seventh in the U12 event.
Matthew Ranson and Kieron Rice-Williams finished ninth and 12th respectively for the U10 boys, Kit Williams was 10th in the U12 boys event with Sebastian Rice-Williams 11th and Jack Williams 12th for the U14s.
Adult club members also performed well as Elizabeth Ruffley came home 10th in the women’s event and Martin Williams and Chris Rice-Williams finished 12th and 15th in the novice event.
Cycling’s current popularity is reflected in the club’s highest ever membership of 144. If anyone is interested in the club, contact Mick Holliday on 01327 350498.
