A late penalty earned Alchester a 16-13 victory against struggling Slough in Southern Counties North.
In a closely-fought contest, Slough began much the brighter side with an early penalty and converted try putting them 10-0 ahead.
The visitors hit back and scored their first of two tries after through winger Nelson Jordan before a Tom Miles penalty made the score 10-8 at half time.
A Slough penalty shortly after the break extended their lead to five points but Alchester piled on the pressure and finally broke through with a try in the corner.
Miles missed the conversion to leave the scores level before he made amends with a penalty that put Alchester ahead for the first time and despite a final Slough surge, the visitors held onto their first victory in seven matches.
