Ten Bicester athletes travelled to Burgess Hill to represent Oxfordshire at the U11 south east Fun in Athletics regional festival.
Josiah Edwards-Giraud had an excellent day in the U11 Boys competition, taking first in the chest push event and second in the speed bounce. Edwards-Giraud was also a crucial part of the Grand Prix relay team who won their race.
Thomas Kavanagh was another to impress as he finished third in the vertical jump, while Lucas Williams came fifth in the 2+2 lap relay and George Starkey-Wickets took sixth in the balance test.
To finish the day the Bicester trio of Ellis Griffiths-Brown, Williams and Edwards-Giraud came sixth in the 4x1 lap relay race. The Oxfordshire U11 boys team finished the day fourth overall.
As for the girls, Rushani Arumugham was in fine form to take victory in the vertical jump and balance test before she then ran with club mate Georgie Cordy in the 2+2 lap relay to win their heat.
Millie Couzens was equal first in the balance test and, with Arumugham and Amelia Cox, helped the team to second in the event. Couzens also finished eighth in a close vertical jump competition, while Katie Ford was 14th individually to help the Oxfordshire girls gain second place in the speed bounce. The team finished the day in eighth.
