Bicester M3s completed the double over Berkshire rivals Reading Rovers at the weekend to continue their push for promotion in MBBO Division Eight.
The early exchanges were fairly even as both sides came up against well-drilled defences, but Bicester gradually seized control and broke the deadlock on 15 minutes when Jason Crook made no mistake with his second attempt after seeing his first effort well saved by the Reading goalkeeper.
Moments later, Bicester doubled up as Nick Styles kept his cool to finish from close range, before Reading halved the deficit to 2-1 at the interval.
The visitors began to visibly tire under constant Bicester pressure in the second period, with the hosts creating a number of chances, but impressive goalkeeping denied the home side until Pete English slid the ball into the net from a penalty corner to seal a deserved 3-1 win.
This weekend, second-placed Bicester M3s face a promotion clash against West Hampstead, who are level on points with Bicester but sit one place behind on goal difference.
